When not travelling, the kids study at home. Abie and Ummie take turns conducting lessons. We want their lessons to be structured (i.e addition before multiplication, knowing a,ba,ta before reading Iqra’) but we are careful not to make their learning too rigid and formal. Parents and teachers must have good eyes to catch important signals: yawn, eyes darting elsewhere, getting restless. These are signs to stop or change your teaching style. Even if you are not homeschooling your children, take time to sit and teach them something, anything. You will learn something about them and about your personality too.
